Grace Van Dien, who played cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham on the popular Netflix series ‘Stranger Things,’ has turned to a streaming career due to non-consensual sexual advances she says she faced from an unidentified producer.
In the past two and a half weeks, the 26-year-old actress turned down four film projects due to past negative experiences with her superiors on set, she said in a Twitch stream on Tuesday.
“In one of the last movies I did, one of the producers hired a girl he was sleeping with and then asked me to do a threesome with them,” he continued.
She refused and was upset after the incident. These days, she prefers streaming because it’s better for her mental health.
“With streaming, I get to choose who I hang out with, who I talk to,” Van Dien said. She streams herself playing on her @BlueFille Twitch account which has 303,000 followers.
The actress says that she will be selective about the projects she gets involved with in the future, but that she hasn’t completely abandoned the world of acting and television.
“As I get older my work priorities are changing. I’m waiting for the right project,” he tweeted Thursday.
“I am happy here and I am developing my own projects. I hope someone decides to finance them because that way I can have control of my own set and I’m not going to ask my actors to sleep with me. Van Dien said.
Amid coverage of her Twitch stream, Van Dien promoted her directorial debut, “Monsters and Muses,” a 2020 short film in which she starred.
“More of this”, she tweeted Friday
