Nintendo Addresses Metroid Prime Remastered Stock Issues Due To Reselling End-shutdown

“Continue to check with major retailers for availability”

In case you missed it, Metroid Prime Remastered (or remake, depending on how you look at it) was released digitally on February 8 and physically on February 22 in the US. was supposed to to arrive physically on February 22, but many retailers did not receive shipments, and people who wanted a copy found themselves inundated with bots and scalpers. It’s the latest in a series of physical release dramas from Nintendo, but there might be a light at the end of the tunnel to this story.

Metroid Prime Remastered will continue to be stocked

Nintendo of America actually provided a statement to Nintendo Life, who noted that they are aware of the issue and intend to keep the game in stock (at least for the near future). Here’s the full statement, courtesy of Nintendo Life:

“We will do our best to meet the strong demand for the product. Please continue to check with major retailers for availability. If he Metroid Prime Remastered the game is sold out at various retailers in the US, we will work to provide more units as soon as possible.

Obviously, Nintendo wants to make money, so it’s going to do its best to sell as much as it can; including stock that still needs to be shipped. But the “as soon as possible” bit implies some sort of urgency, which might help your case if you’re still in the market for a copy. It also hints that this isn’t an extremely limited one-run, so you should get another chance to get it if you’re psyching yourself up right now and realized you want a copy.

as for me my Amazon copy ordered for launch hasn’t shipped yet but is scheduled to arrive around March 7-9. That’s a few weeks after the aforementioned physical release, but at least it’s semi-locked!
